The benefits and downsides of
MLM
It may be a
benefit or annoyance when MLM salesmen try to sell their
products. A personal touch is added when customers can
easily ask relatives they trust any questions they want
about the product anytime. However, having to reject them
if the product is undesirable may be a chore as well. It
can be hard to escape an MLM salesman, particularly if he
is a friend, relative or colleague. The only complaint
about MLM is that there are too many sales people,
because simply anyone can start a business.
It is not possible
to pinpoint the average MLM marketeer. Distributors range
from people in their 20s to 70s, from individuals to
couples who service clients together, from housewives to
taxi drivers to doctors. The unemployed and laid off have
also turned to MLM to make a living.
So far, MLM
companies have not and will not pose a threat to
traditional shopfront retail outlets. The difference
between the two is that retail outlets provide a choice,
where consumers can choose from a wide range and breadth
of products. In the end, the product will speak for
itself.
